In Conclusion

And be not conformed to this world,
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.

St. Paul

The St. Augustine Society is committed to helping those who wish to understand the struggle to transcend the lower state of man, and to move towards the highest state, a union between God and man.

In a world in which the quest for truth seems largely forgotten, we urge you to have the courage to accept St. Paul's call to walk as children of light, no longer tossed about by every breeze.

We urge you to have the hope which inspired the poet William Blake to write movingly:

I will not cease from mental fight
Nor shall my sword rest in my hand,
Until we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

We urge you to have the sense of joy of Bach's sailor who, after struggling with a bitter storm wherein huge waves made life itself precarious - the storm which rages in all humanity - stands at last peacefully on deck as the clouds break to give way to the majesty
of light.

The ultimate choice is ours. When we gather courage to seek God within ourselves, we can take up the challenge:

Become that thou truly art.

That is the goal of the St. Augustine Society, a goal that we invite you to share with us.
